BLASTR- The future of digital collectibles on Blast Network.
After just one month of activity on mainnet, the Blast network has maintained a TVL of 2.5 billion dollars and increasing volume- thanks to its unique native yield and the abundance of innovative new platforms and dApps building on its chain.
Today, we’re going to shed some light on one of Blast’s Big Bang winners that recently went live on testnet and is well positioned to pioneer a new frontier of digital collectibles: BLASTR.
BLASTR stands as digital collectibles launching platform- similar to how one can go on Opensea, and list / create a collection, however BLASTR has several key differentiators that separate them from traditional platforms in the past.
Users can create “unruggable” NFT collections through refundable mints while earning from the Blast network’s native yield and points.
For example, a user can “Mint” a refundable collectible, two months later realize they don’t want it or need to liquidate funds and refund it- thus burning the collectible on chain and receiving the funds used for purchasing back in their wallet.
But what does this mean?
For the first time, collectors can now participate in mints without the worry of not only being rugpulled, but also without the worries of investing in a project and its team efforts dwindling or underperforming in general. This creates an element of mutual benefit for both creators and holders and vastly lowers the pressure on both parties.
Not only does it lower pressure, but it adds increased incentive through yields accrued over time. In typical models creators/teams could simply mint projects, receive tons of funds- and walk away, or provide minimal growth effort. Now, as a result of the innovation of BLASTR teams are incentivized to continue to add value to their projects over time in exchange for the network’s yield earnings.
Should holders be genuinely dedicated to a project, they have the option to voluntarily upgrade their NFT (renouncing their stake). Upon making this choice, their stake (mint price) is directly transferred to the creator, though this decision lies solely with holders.
To encourage holders to consider renouncing their stake, creators may offer enticing incentives. These could include exclusive benefits such as airdrops, discounts, and other exclusive perks tailored to reward their commitment.
In a sense, creators now have an easy path to sustained monthly income and earnings and can more easily view their projects as well-paying, scalable job.
In addition, this enables a new economy for collectibles in which supply and demand economics is prioritized. As NFT’s are burnt for refunds, the total supply decreases as a result which increases the value of the collectibles actively being held- however if the owner decides to re-open the mint, the NFT’s be re-minted.
And, the downside?
For creators, the only downside is that the traditional “mint day pay-day” culture is a thing of the past. Rather than rapidly deploy projects in search of a quick payout- BLASTR is incentivizing the trend to shift to rewarding those that continue to build for communities and users. This will certainly deter teams; as it also acts as a mechanism to make bad actors in the space a thing of the past.
As a winner of the Big Bang competition, BLASTR has received and will continue to receive Blast gold, which it will disperse to its community and early contributors.
